Cellar Cooling Refrigeration Installation Manchester
The application of cellar cooling is particularly popular with public houses to cool the beer to the desired temperature. This central cooling is more efficient and reliable than separate, smaller cooling systems which can be used to cool the beer pumps. An increase in reliability will, in turn, reduce the service costs and the energy consumption.
Cold Room Refrigeration Installation Manchester
The plant installed for cold rooms is similar to the above. However, the application is often used to keep food products just above freezing, or to deep freeze the product.
Commercial Refrigeration Systems
Unlike the above, these systems do not require the installation procedure which is outlined below. This is because these systems are stand alone and usually plug int to a 16 amp, 240v power supply. Double door and single door fridges and freezers are popular for this application. Also, island fridges and display cabinets are used to store food products.
Site Survey for Refrigeration Installation Manchester
Prior to the installation, a site survey will be carried out by our projects engineer. Meticulous planning ensures the job will go easily. We are conscious of your business operation and therefore conscious of the need for a quick installation.
Kilowatt Capacity for Refrigeration Installation Manchester
The required capacity of the system is calculated with our software application to ensure there is no unnecessary oversizing of the plant.
Materials for Refrigeration Installation Manchester
The required materials are assessed before the job and added to the Quote. This includes: electrical isolators, electrical wiring, brackets, fixings, pipework, insulation, and a defrost drainpipe.
Thermostatic Expansion Valve
The Danfoss expansion valve orifice is selected to match the mass flow rate of the compressor which is located in the condensing unit.
Evaporator
The refrigerant evaporator is sized to provide the required volume so as to drop the pressure to the desired saturation point. A smaller evaporator is used for 2°C to 5°C applications and a larger evaporator is used for -20°C applications.
Condensing Unit
We are a dealer for the Danfoss product range as we find this brand to be the best in reliability, availability and build quality. We therefore install Danfoss condensing units to compress the refrigerant to above the ambient temperature so that the airflow of the fan is able to condense the refrigerant into its liquid phase.

Installation
We have a two man team available in the Greater Manchester area with a mobile workshop, ladders, scaffolding and podium steps.
Fixings
The condenser and evaporator are installed using rawl bolts, uni strut and other fixings.
Pipework
The correct size of the pipework is selected to ensure there is sufficient mass flow rate to entrain the oil back to the compressor. The pipework is installed going up first before going down to provide an oil trap. Both ends of the pipework are flared onto the condenser according to the correct torque setting.
Electrical Wiring during Refrigeration Installation Manchester
Our engineers are qualified electricians and are adept at the electrical wiring of the condenser, the evaporator and the electrical isolators. After this has been carried out, an insulation test proves that there will be no earth leakage after the plant becomes live.
Drain
The defrost and condensate drain is fitted to the evaporator drip pan and sealed with a plastic welding solvent. The drip pan is then filled with water to test for leaks.

TEV during Refrigeration Installation Manchester
The thermostatic expansion valve is silver soldered or flared into position. This component comes pre-set to provide 5°C of superheat. There is never a requirement to adjust the orifice of the expansion valve during the lifetime of the valve. This is because the correct size orifice is selected to match the mass flow rate of the compressor. A tag is fitted to the capillary tube of the expansion valve for future service. Slug-back results from winding the valve out which will cause a compressor smash up. Winding the valve in causes high superheat and an inefficient running of the plant.
Pressure Test
An industry standard pressure test is carried out for 1 hour. The result is signed off by the end user on our Pressure Test Certificate.
Evacuation Process
Our installation team have a high capacity 10 cfm vacuum pump which is used to dehydrate the system of moisture and non condensables…
Non Condensables
These are nitrogen left over from the pressure test and air in the pipework. Non condensables cause a high head pressure and a false reading of subcooling, also high energy costs and a poorly running system. The start of the dehydration process removes the non condensables.
Dehydration
As the pressure drops in the system, so does the boiling point of water. This is consistent with Charle’s Law of Constant Volume. This process is continued until the same pressure is achieved in the system as when a Torr gauge is fitted directly onto the vacuum pump.
Commissioning
After all pre-start up checks have been carried out, a run test is completed. The refrigerant charge is trimmed until the subcooling and superheat values come to within standard industry guidelines. A refrigerant leak test is carried out according to REFCOM guidelines.
After Sales Service for Refrigeration Installation Manchester
On completion of the commissioning, the plant is handed over and signed off by the end user. A follow up leak test is carried out subsequent to the installation. We also provide maintenance packages to ensure your plant continues to operate efficiently and reliably.
